Bang & Bonsomer Acquires the Entire Share Capital of B. Engelhardt & Co AB
On January 2nd, 2025, Bang & Bonsomer Group Oy acquired 100% of the shares in B. Engelhardt & Co AB and its subsidiary Engelhardt A/S.
Engelhardt, one of the Nordic region’s leading manufacturers and developers of smart solutions for the food industry, was founded in 1962. Today, Engelhardt holds a prominent position among manufacturers and distributors in baking recipe development, dry blends, functional specialty ingredients, and health products.
To deliver maximum customer value, the company combines a high degree of technical expertise with modern, well-invested facilities strategically located in Gothenburg, Sweden, and a permanent establishment in Vejle, Denmark, from where it serves the Danish market.
Engelhardt offers an appealing range of high-quality products categorized into three segments:
Bakery products: flexible blends, bread improvers, cake mixes, bread blends, and gluten-free products.
Special ingredients/food ingredient distribution.
Health & Nutrition products: nutritious food, meal replacements, diet replacements, and dietary supplements.
Bang & Bonsomer, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, and operating in nine countries, is a smart material technology company providing a wide range of industrial raw materials and additives to various industries. The company is divided into five business divisions, each serving different industrial sectors. In 2023, Bang & Bonsomer achieved a turnover of €170 million and employed more than 300 people.
The acquisition will further strengthen Bang & Bonsomer’s position, particularly in the food ingredients market. Engelhardt will become part of the FOODING business division, which focuses on selected food industry segments and applications, delivering safe, high-quality ingredients, innovative solutions, and technologies.
All Engelhardt personnel will continue their employment with Bang & Bonsomer.
